What Annie’s Eating is is all about bringing simple, California-inspired recipes to home cooks everywhere. Here, you’ll find my easy recipes that are fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. Many of my recipes are inspired what’s in season at the farmer’s market, with healthy dose of pasta and desserts here and there – because I believe that enjoying food is all about a balance.
I have loved the kitchen, cooking, and all things food ever since I was a little girl. I even faked a sick day or two to stay home and watch Martha Stewart when I was in elementary school! I grew helping my dad harvest everything under the sun in our family garden, and have had a love for seasonal produce ever since. Cooking for myself, friends, and family is my happy place—it’s creative, sensory, nostalgic, mindful, and it’s the absolute best way to bring a group of people together. I was born and raised just outside of San Francisco until I moved down south to attend UCLA (go bruins!), and then culinary school a few years later. I completed my externship in the test kitchen at goop.com, which was a dream come true and completely confirmed my love for all things recipe development, food writing, food styling, and empowering people to cook. Additionally, I’ve worked at a cooking school, done some private chef work, cooking demos, and I contribute to a number of food publications as an editor and freelance recipe developer. I’ve loved all of it! I currently reside in sunny Santa Monica, and if I’m not at the beach, hiking, or at the farmer’s market, you can find me cozied up on my couch reading cookbooks, daydreaming about new recipes, or in the kitchen making something delicious! I can’t live without heirloom tomatoes in the summer, coffee, or dinner parties with good company.
I’m a firm believer that there is nothing quite like a home cooked meal, and I want to encourage people to cook for themselves with accessible, fun, and (mostly) healthy recipes. I hope you enjoy following my food adventures as much as I enjoy recipe-testing and trying! Bon appetit!
