These blood orange and prosecco cocktails are perfect for your Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas morning brunch, New Year’s Eve, you name it! During the winter in the peak of citrus season, I love to mix blood orange kombucha with some prosecco, a squeeze of fresh blood orange juice, and garnish with thin orange slices and some type of woody herb like thyme or rosemary for a nice aromatic. You could even swap out the prosecco for something a little stronger like vodka, tequila, or mezcal. Kombucha is a great mixer for any type of cocktail because it’s fizzy, tart, and already sweet, which means you don’t have to make a simple syrup. I am all for a delicious recipe that requires very little prep! Plus, this refreshing and gorgeous cocktail will be a welcome change from the heavy pasta bakes, cookies, and eggnog-y drinks – not that I don’t love all of those things!
If you can’t get your hands on a blood orange flavor of kombucha, something like ginger-lemon, or really any citrus flavored kombucha should get the job done. Health Ade has some great flavors that work really nicely with this cocktail, you can find them here, here, and here. I also see this brand at Whole Foods all the time and it works great with this recipe as well.
